Fieldbus technology has heralded the breakthrough of decentralization in machine installation. Conventional parallel wiring has become a relic of the past in many areas. Fieldbus modules with IP67 protection are an important component in machine installation since they replace the complex, and therefore expensive, wiring in terminal boxes. The modules in Murrelektronik‘s IMPACT67 range are now a highly interesting contender whenever cost-benefit calculation is the prime factor in installation technology.
The modules in this new product line development are full-fledged fieldbus modules. Plug-in terminals, diagnostic options, IP67 protection – everything is there. Of course there are applications that demand comprehensive diagnostic options and sturdier housing technology as the components are exposed to tough environments that involve aggressive media and vibrations, for example. In cases such as these, MVK Metal is the optimized solution.
By contrast, IMPACT67 is designed intentionally to meet the basic demands of all conventional machine installations that don‘t have extended requirements. From this aspect, these modules are an interesting option with a special trump up the sleeves – costeffective basic functionality.
For many installations, IMPACT67 modules are the cost-effective alternative, precisely tailored to actual requirements, in plant construction, for example projects in the fields of logistics, waste processing, bottling machines, or palletizing systems, or in nonmetalcutting machine tools, i.e. equipment for sheetmetal working, robotics, woodworking, or materials handling.
In short, IMPACT67 is always the optimized solution to assist the design engineer faced with digital I/O applications, when environmental influences move within regular limits in installation technology – and when the objective is to minimize costs.
Modules in the IMPACT67 range are fitted with a plastic housing and plug-in terminals. This reduces the installation time. The clever signal assignment of M12 I/O slots helps to reduce installations costs by up to 50 percent. The slot layout is intuitive so that technicians can recognize functional associations at a glance. This also saves time during maintenance work. The fieldbus group diagnostic means that faults are quickly localized and rectified – reducing machine downtime to a minimum.
