M12 is a standard part when it comes to wiring sensors and actuators. The reason is obvious: Time savings. However, one standard connector can not fit for any application. The knurled surface on the connector helps to fit it manually. If the sealing action is critical, the M12 torque wrench provides extra safety. After mounting the connecter by hand, the fitter can then tighten the connector to a specific torque without injuring his fingers. Once the recommended tightening torque is reached, the connector simply „clicks“. The audible click means that the seal is tight. It‘s hard to imagine a simpler and more reliable way to fit connectors. Short installation times are vital in material handling systems, assembly machines, and packaging machines. This is because there is a particularly high number of sensors. Meanwhile, there are several quick-action locking systems. The MQ12 has a feature that makes it stand out from the rest: It is the only one that is suitable for standard sensors. The manufacturer need not modify the sensors. The Murrelektronik system is really simple to fit: Place the MQ12 on the sensor, turn the locking mechanism by a quarter turn - that‘s it! Time savings: about 80 percent. A visual mark shows that the connector is seated precisely. MQ12 is tight to IP67. It comes as connector or socket, straight or angled, with open lead ends, as connecting leads, or the connector can be terminated in the field. The NEW Murrelektronik M12 Steel Connector for sensors and actuators meets the highest performance demands and quality standards of food & beverage, and medical production plants. It is the first M12 steel connector to meet all of the stringent heat, corrosion resistance and waterproof requirements of these restrictive production environments. The Murrelektronik M12 Steel Connector is unbreakable, corrosion-resistant and can be washed down with acidic and caustic cleaning agents at high temperatures and under high-pressure conditions. It conforms to IP68 and IP69K protection classes. Additional trials conducted by Ecolab, an independent testing laboratory, also confirm that the M12 Steel Connector meets all requirements of the food & beverage industry. The innovative design of the M12 Steel Connector integrates a hex-head into the coupling nut for easy installation using Murrelektronik’s unique torque wrench. This specialized torque wrench guarantees that the connectors will be tightened correctly to form a waterproof connection without damaging the seal. It can also be used to install Murrelektronik’s standard M12 and M8 connectors. One of the outstanding product features of M12 Steel Connectors includes its superior 316L/V4A stainless-steel housing.
