Murrelektronik's active brake rectifiers make connecting DC brakes easier. Now the contactor and rectifier modules are combined! So far, brake components were installed separately: in the control cabinet and on the terminal board of the motor. Now, with Murrelektronik’s active brake rectifiers, they are included in one compact component. The DC brakes are controlled directly from the control cabinet. And thanks to the integrated semiconductor switch, they never require maintenance. The active brake rectifiers receive a signal from the PLC via a 24 V DC control input. A semiconductor switch, which never wears out, controls the rectified output voltage of the brake. In the initial state the DC brake is mechanically closed, and then is released when the magnetic coils are activated. Approved mains voltages from 230 to 480 V AC make Murrelektronik brake rectifiers suitable for various applications. They also have UL approval which ensures they can be used worldwide. The active brake rectifier can be installed easily thanks to the pluggable spring clamp terminals. Pluggable components for the control input and output voltage enable quick and safe installation.
